Clay Hobbs began his public accounting career in 2019, building experience in tax, reviews, and compilations while serving individuals, real estate investors, and small business owners at one of the Central Valley’s largest CPA firms. Working alongside talented mentors and dedicated professionals helped shape his approach to client service and reinforced the importance of providing practical advice that extends beyond compliance work. He earned his CPA license in 2022 and later transitioned into private accounting, where he gained firsthand insight into the challenges business owners face and the financial decisions that drive long-term success.

For Clay, the most rewarding part of accounting has always been the opportunity to help people. Whether working with a growing business, a real estate investor expanding a portfolio, or an individual navigating a major financial decision, he enjoys simplifying complex issues and providing guidance clients can confidently act on. He believes that clients make better decisions when they understand the "why" behind the advice, so he takes pride in educating clients and helping them build the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions. More importantly, he values building genuine relationships and becoming a trusted resource clients can rely on throughout the year.

That commitment led him to co-found Hobbs & Perez CPAs, LLP, where he works closely with business owners, real estate investors, and individuals on tax preparation, planning, and advisory services. Clay believes the best client relationships are built through accessibility, trust, and consistent communication, and he strives to be the first call clients make when an important financial decision arises.

Outside of work, Clay enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying involved in the local community, and helping clients achieve both their business and personal financial goals.
